The 2009 Ford Freon uses 18 ounces of R134a freon to fill the vehicle. If You notice that there are any freon leaks You should replace the components so that they do not continue to leak in the future. I recommend that You use a freon exchange tool in the vehicle to refill it if it is low. The only way to make sure that the freon is properly filled is to drain it into an exchange tool and then refill it measuring it as You fill. It is also illegal to allow freon to leak out of the system while You are filling it so that is another good reason to let a professional use an exchange tool on the vehicle.
