If You've got a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, You're running one of two different engines depending on configuration and trim level. The smaller engine is a 2.7L 4Cylinder, while the larger is A4.0L V6. The 2.7L is simple; in all configurations, it takeS5.5 quarts of SAE 0W-20 full synthetic. In its absence, it's possible to substitute SAE 5W-20 synthetic for short periods of time. If You've got the larger engine, there's a number of variables. The 4.0L Tacoma engine with 4WD requireS5.5 quarts of SAE 5W-30. The RWD PRE requires the same. The RWD Base, and RWD XRUN edition each use 4.8 quarts of SAE 5W-30 full synthetic oil, though it's possible to substitute SAE 5W-40 conventional for short periods.
