The amount of oil that is used in the 2009 Chevrolet Impala depends on the size of the engine. The 3.5 L V6 has a capacity of 4 quarts with a filter, the 3.9 L V6 useS4 quarts with a filter for the LT and LTZ and 5.1 quarts with a filter for the Police version and the 5.3 L V8 engine needS6 quarts with a filter. The type of oil that is used in the Impala is 0W-30 in below -20 F and 5W-30 above -20 F for the 3.5 L V6, the 3.9 L V6 and the 5.3 L V8 engine. The oil and the filter in the car should be changed every 10,000 miles in order to keep the engine clean.
