The 2015 GMC Terrain has either a 2.4 L 4Cylinder or a 3.6 L V6 engine that needS5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil in all temperatures or 0W-30 in below -20 F temperatures. The capacity for the vehicle iS5 quarts with a filter for the 2.4 L 4Cylinder and 6 quarts with a filter for the 3.6 L V6 engine. Both versions use a torque of 18 ft/lbs for the drain plug. Oil is what is used to help keep the engine clean and parts lubricated to help with friction. Do an oil and filter change 7,500 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first because it doesn't last forever. The cost of an oil change is between $30 and $40 in labor costs.

The engine oil capacity on the 2015 GMC Terrain varies by trim level due to the different engines. The Denali 4-cylinder, SL, SLE 4-cylinder and SLT 4-cylinder models take about 5 quarts of engine oil. The Denali 6-cylinder, SLE 6-cylinder and SLT 6-cylinder models take about 6 quarts of engine oil.
