The transmission fluid in a Honda CR-V should be changed every 90,000 miles. Whenever it is changed You should use the OEM Honda fluid because it is designed to give You superior wear protection for Your gears compared to the other options on the market. You should check Your transmission fluid every time that You change Your oil. You will want to make sure that it is full and free from any signs of debris. When there is debris in the fluid it will usually make it look sparkly or reflective because that is a sign that there is metal in the fluid. If You do notice metal in the fluid You should flush out Your transmission to prevent damage to the gears.

This is incorrect. Honda Cr-V transmission fluid per factory guidelines should be replaced about every 30k miles when maintenance minder 3 comes on. Under extreme conditions such and driving in the mountains or hauling fluid should be changed every 25k. This information is straight out of the owners manual for CR-V's
