To check transmission fluid on a 2002 Ford Explorer v6, watch: https://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=VVs8545gmxg The transmission is one of the most important parts of the vehicle. You will come into problems at some point. The gears may become stuck. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be patched quickly. There might be jerking. Delayed shifts will cause acceleration problems. Hard shifts could come up and that is not good. The transmission could slip. You may experience shudders. The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache.

On your 2002 ford explorer v6 there is no way to check the transmission fluid, these are sealed transmissions that do not have a dipstick.

Since this car does not have a dipstick, you have to use the check valve on the bottom of transmission of the car.

It's a sealed transmission so there's no way to CK the fluid condition. Thanks Ford! But the Dealership I suppose can change the fluid. Maybe that's part of the Transmission problem..bad fluid!
