There is not any way to easily disable the start stop system on a 2019 GMC Terrain. GMC has enacted an effort to try to improve fuel economy and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from their vehicles, so they have no way to disable the auto start stop system. The only real way to disable auto start stop is to open Your hood, then start Your engine, then close the hood. This can trick the ECU into thinking the hood is open for a mechanic to inspect and it will keep the vehicle running. There are also third party devices on the market that can trick Your SUV's ECU, but GMC does not endorse or recommend any of these products.

You can go into neutral and then hit the L button till it goes to L7. That will stop it if you dont have the circle on the dash.

Auto stop only work when in Drive (D). Shifting to Neutral (N) or using the manual shift feature (L) will cancel auto stop.
