To reset the anti-theft on the vehicle You will need to first get into the vehicle and shut the doors. With the doors shut You want to put the key into the ignition slot and turn it on. Once You have turned it on You will then want to turn it back to the off position. Now repeat this procesS8 more times, and make sure You do it in under 12 seconds. On the last one, You will want to leave the key in the on position. Wait for about 5 minutes and You will see the anti-theft light blink. Once it blinks start the engine and the vehicle will now be reset. If the engine does not start then You did not turn the key on and off quickly enough.

To disable the anti theft on fords you want to unlock the driver's door with the key, switch the ignition switch to the on position. If that doesn't work, roll up all windows, then use the key to lock the driver's door.

After many many You Tube videos and blogs over the last month I had almost gave up!! Until I found this!! "To reset the anti-theft on the vehicle You will need to first get into the vehicle and shut the doors. With the doors shut You want to put the key into the ignition slot and turn it on. Once You have turned it on You will then want to turn it back to the off position. Now repeat this procesS8 more times, and make sure You do it in under 12 seconds. I have 1999 mustang gt and have the same problem with the theft light. Try tilting your steering wheel all the way down and try to start your car. The wires come loose from moving the steering wheel up and down. It works for me all the time. Good luck

I'm having a similar anti theft issue with my car as well. It has been sitting for 2 months. Ford wants to charge me almost 600 dollars to get a new key and programming done. Am I going to still have the same problem after?
