The Ford Fusion has a hood that needs to be opened manually if the battery has died. This is easy to do, and takes between 3 and 5 minutes. The first thing You need to do is stand in front of Your vehicle. Using Your hand, find the hood latch under the dash, just to the left of the steering wheel area. Next, pull the lever down, or outward. Finally, lift the edge of the hood upward, and the hood should pop open. You can location the prop rod on the side, and use it to hold the hood open while You work hands-free.

To open a ford fusion hood while inside the vehicle, locate the hood release lever on the driver's side, right next to the driver's side door. Pull the bar forward to pop the hood.
