There are a few different ways to open the Jeep Grand Cherokee's rear hatch, so determine which is best for You depending on Your particular circumstances. If the vehicle is unlocked, You should be able to use the button located directly on the outside of the hatch itself. After pressing the button to release, the liftgate should pull up relatively easily. Alternatively, You can use the button on Your key fob to directly open the hatch. Lastly, it's possible to open the hatch using the button located on Your lower left dash. If these methods aren't working to open the hatch (or if it's stuck open, and won't shut), You may have to look into other options; this indicates that there may be a problem with the hatch hardware itself.

To open the trunk of the Jeep Grand Cherokee you will find a latch under the trunk itself and you will find a button on the main console dash to the left of the steering wheel. There will also be a latch on the inside of the trunk in case you need to open it from there.

There is a button on the overhead console, one on your key fob, and the handle on the hatch will open the gate, if you have your fob on you.

Manual handle near bottom center. Some have an optional button at rear inside the hatch on driver side, push button for auto close.
