Resetting the oil life in a 2004 Acura TL is a simple process that takes only a couple minutes to do. Begin with the vehicle parked and all doors closed. Turn the key in the ignition to II. This is also commonly called the On or Run position, which is right before You actually start the engine. Display the engine oil life by repeatedly pressing the SELECT/RESET button. Once it is displayed, press the SELECT/RESET again and hold it for 10 seconds. Now, You should see oil life mode on the display. Select RESET by using the INFO button. Press SELECT/RESET once more and the oil life should be reset to 100%. Turn the ignition to Off and then start the vehicle to make sure the reset was completed.

To reset the 2004 acura tl maintenance light, turn the ignition to (ii)-do not start the engine. Click the sel / reset button on the steering wheel repeatedly before the oil life of the engine is seen. Click and hold the sel button for more than 10 seconds. The remaining engine oil life reset mode will be seen on the multi-information monitor. Select reset by pressing the info (up / down) button, and then click the sel / reset button to restore the engine oil life display.

None of these are correct for the 2004 Acura TL as it doesn’t not have the sel/reset buttons described by either of these people.
