If Your 2016 Subaru Outback has a touch screen display, it's simple to reset the oil life indicator. First, turn the ignition to ON (with the engine not running), and select CAR INFO on the navigation system. Select MAINTENANCE. Next, delete any maintenance event that has been completed, and click ADD EVENT, and configure the date and miles of the maintenance interval schedule. Finally, touch FINISH. Alternatively, the light should go off on its own and the oil life should be reset if You drive the car to speed once the engine is warmed up, after the maintenance has been performed. It's also possible to reset the oil life with a compatible OBD-IiModule, so it's quite simple if You have access to a scan tool.

To reset oil on a subaru outback you will need to just drive off for 5 miles and once it reaches running temperature it will reset.
