ProgRamming the key fob for a 2012 Toyota Camry is a job probably best left to the dealer. It requires proprietary software and a cable that plugs into the OBD port. Follow the steps provided by the software manufacturer. Turn off cell phones or any other devises that can produce radio frequencies. You will have to place the original key fob in front of the start button for a few seconds, then follow the steps for the other fob. You can progRam up to a total of five keys in the Camry. Usually two keys will already be stored when the car is delivered from the factory. There are three different smart key styles, be sure to choose one that matches Your original key.

When programming a 2012 toyota camry key fob, try holding the "unlock" and "lock" button on the key fob for two seconds and then releasing. Then press the "lock" button for up to three seconds and release. The door should lock and unlock.

The advise of April 13, 2020 from Michael S. Actually worked for my 2012 Camry. A few days back, my keyfob started to behave erratically, opening and closing the locks at random every 20-30 seconds. I tried changing the battery, but that did not help - after changing the battery, the keyfob light blinked 19 times, but did nothing to open the car. Having read Michael's advice, I sat in the car and tried holding the buttons in the sequence provided in the advice, and, when that did not work, in other similar sequences. After a few tries, the locks clicked and the keyfob started working normally. Thumbs up to Michael!
