Removing the dome light cover on a Ford Explorer is relatively simple; You'll need something small and flat, like a tiny flathead screwdriver. If You don't have one handy, You may be able to use any small flat piece of metal, or even a plastic spudger. You'll want to look to the rear of the dome light; there, You'll find a small indentation. Stick Your chosen tool in this hole, and gently pry the dome cover off. It should release without much prodding, but You may need to give it just a gentle nudge. Be careful though; as they're typically made of plastic, strong-arming it can lead to damage. You may need to give it a little time, but You'll get it free of the clips.

To remove the dome light cover, look for a small recess in the rear and use a screwdriver to pull the cover down.
