The oil change light on your 2013 Ram 1500 needs to be reset after every oil change so that the system can determine when the next oil change is due. If you don't reset the light, you will find that your vehicle will indicate that you need another oil change sooner than would be necessary. The procedure only takes a few moments. First, turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Now, slowly press the accelerator to the floor for 3 times within 10 seconds. After doing this, turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.. You have completed the procedure and you can turn your engine off.

To reset the oil life on a 2013 ram 1500 put it in the on position with the engine off, press the gas pedal 3 times, and then turn it off and back on.
