A common problem is an awful burning odor. This needs to be viewed closely as soon as possible or the car might explode. Your oil needs to be changed out someday. Every 5,000 to 10,000 miles or so is a good rule of thumb. If You don't replace it, there will be problems with the engine.

When resetting the oil light on the 2017 ford escape, ensure that the engine is off. If the vehicle has a turn-key unit, place the key in the ignition and turn it to on, without starting the engine. Push down and hold the brake and accelerator pedals to the floor simultaneously. Within about 3 seconds "service oil - reset in prog(ress)" should come on the information display screen. Continue holding the pedals down for about 25 seconds, until "service oil - reset complete" appears on the screen. For the push-button start vehicle, press the start button once while the engine is off, not pressing the brake pedal. Finally, push down and hold the the brake and accelerator pedals together, until "service oil - reset complete" is displayed.

What does it reset to? How many miles? Can you change it? We all know the 3000 mi is bogus now. I need it to be set at 7500.

For 2017 escape with push button ignition then press brake and accelerator all the way down Hold till it resets. Key is holding accelerator all the way down. Not in manual

It's quite easy and there are two ways to do it. Look it up on YouTube but one has to do with holding down the Gas Pedal when the car is off or something. Once you know it's really simple
