To reset the airbag light in a Ford Escape You can follow these directions listed here - Step 1 insert the key into the ignition and turn the switch to "on". Step 2 Pay attention tot he light as it will illuminate for seven seconds and then shut off. After the shut off turn the ignition off and wait for 3 seconds. You will have to repeat this process 1-2 times before it goes into affect and once You start the engine the SRS light should shut off. The most common reason for the airbag light to be on is because the car had its airbag deployed so if You have not had that happen or disconnected the battery You should take it to a dealership to make sure there are no other problems involving the airbag.

On a ford escape turn the to on, then watch for the airbag light to turn on and shut of after seven seconds, then quickly turn the key off and wait three seconds, then repeat steps twice and start engine to reset airbag.
Did not work on 2009 i recently got an extra for doors and ignition only. Don't know if this had anything to do with it

I did this and it didn't delete odometer or anything else. I see now I was supposed to keep it off for 3 seconds which I didn't do so in the morning I'll try again giving more time. All I did was slam on my brakes and it went on.
There can also be a damaged or broken or an even disconnected wire from the seatbelt to the sensor or and also a damaged fuse included,be sure to check thoroughly for any other issues you home mechanics can fix without dealership assistance. Glad to help
