The oil change light on Your Ford Escape needs to be reset after every oil change so that the system can determine when the next oil change is due. If You don't reset the light, You will find that Your vehicle will indicate that You need another oil change sooner than would be necessary. The procedure only takes a few moments. First, turn the ignition on without starting the vehicle. Then, press down on both the brake and gas pedals at the same time until Your screen says "Service: Oil Reset In Progress." Keep pressing down on the break and gas for about 25 seconds until the screen says "Service: Oil Reset Complete" You may need to wait for a few minutes but You have completed the procedure and You can turn Your ignition off.
