On Your Ford Fusion when the car firSTStarts up, the downhill assist control system will turn on, just press the switch again to turn the system off. But what exactly is a downhill assist You may be wondering. Well using a combination of anti-lock brakes and other systems, the vehicle will maintain a constant speed for the descent, even if the grade increases or decreases. When the road levels off, the driver can then shut off Hill Descent Control and increase the speed of the vehicle once again. Hill descent control is also one of many newer features that SUVs are adopting today to make driving a family around safer. Having the ability to control Your speed as You're going down a slippery slope keeps the odds of safety in Your favor.

I’m having the same issue. The light is on when I start my vehicle. I push the button to turn it off and it stays on. I’ve tried it with the vehicle in drive, in neutral, moving at a low speed… Never turns off… Any thoughts?
