To disable the lane assist option on a Subaru is simple and takes a few minutes. What You're going to want to do first is find the button with a car going to its right with the word OFF on it. It is usually located to the left of the steering wheel on most vehicles. Now, You will hold onto that button for a total of 2 seconds to disable the feature. Once the two seconds have passed, the lane assist will have been deactivated. That's all You need to do.

On the Subaru RS 3.6 legacy the button is located by your right knee and it has two lines with the car veering off to the right, and says off you need to hold the button a few seconds until you hear a beep and then it is engaged, it is no use just pressing it because it doesn’t work you have to hold and listen for the beep

The 2021 Outback doesn't have that button either. It is quick to turn off but there are about 8 buttons to press and it comes back on everytime you turn off ignition. System, Car, Eyesight, two options re lane systems.
