As the owner of a Ford Escape, you may be wondering how to turn on the overdrive option in your vehicle. This is very easy to do, and will only take 4 to 6 minutes of your time. First, go to the driver's side of your vehicle and get inside. Now, take a look at the area in the center of your dashboard, between the radio system and your center console. This is where your gear shifter is located. The overdrive button can be found just to the left of this shifter. To turn it on or off, simply press the button one time.

Both these answers are wrong for my 2018 Ford Escape. There is no overdrive button on the left side of the shifter. There is a rocker switch that will put the car into or out of “Sport” mode.

On the ford escape the overdrive button can be found on the left side of the shifter, just press and release the button for on and off.
