To update the 2012 Toyota Camry's navigation visit the company's website to check for the latest "map" updates. For OS operating systems, download "MapUpdateToolbox-inst.exe". Open the progRam on Your computer or laptop. Insert the car's SD card into Your computer and connect it to the Map Update Toolbox. You will be prompted to create a backup file in case downloading is corrupted on the SD card. After backup, log into the Map Toolbox with Your username and password. The progRam will reveal whether updates are needed or available. When the update is finished the system will display "SD Card is up-to-date". Now select "Exit Toolbox". Insert the updates into Your vehicle and follow the prompts to complete.

For 2012, according to the toyota.com website, the user cannot update the navigation maps. The dealership tells me that I will need to purchase a disk for approximately $200.00 to update it. I cannot use the same disk for my 2013, unfortunately.
