There are three main points where oil may be leaking from on Your Toyota Camry. The First place to check is the valve cover gasket. This can dry and wear out over time allowing oil to seep out and end up on the engine or the ground on the driver side. The second place to check for oil leaks is the oil pan gasket but be sure the leak is coming from there since oil from the valve cover can easily run down to the oil pan making it look like the source when it isnt. The final place is the most costly to repair and that is the cam seals and gaskets around the crankshaft and oil pump. These will usually be replaced when changing the timing belt and can be a good indication that the service is due.

Remove the plug wires, take a 30mm socket and tighten up the four nuts that hold the valve cover on. Oil will not leak from valve cover any more.

A faulty rear main seal is the most common reason for a camry to leak oil on this side.
