Clunking noises from the Toyota Camry's rear suspension are signs that the sway bar bushings are wearing out. It is a common problem/failure associated with the Camry's suspension. The sway bar is connected at either end to stabilizer links and bushings that allow for movement within the assembly. The weight of the vehicle combined with rough road travel and cause stress on these areas that eventually translate to significant noise or "clunking". Another cause of rear suspension noise is caused by worn rubber bushings affixed to the Camry's rear strut rod. Over time, due to friction and heat, they can shrink exposing the strut rod to metal on metal and causing clunking noises from the back of the vehicle.

I also have a 2020 Camry with clunking noises though mine is in front end. Particularly noticeable when going over rough surfaces, speed humps and slow speeds. Please ring Toyota Guest Experiences and report it. I have had my car to dealer and they believe it's "normal" it's not. The more to report we will get a resolution.

Clunking on your camry could be strut rod bushings.

Wife has a 2020 Camry and also had clunking noise in the front end, took it into the dealer and 4 mechanics heard the same noise and couldnt figure out what it was. Then they said it stopped after driving it around (after i had driven it 200 miles with the noise) and said could have just been road debris. BS
