The 2006 Ford F-150 was called out by several owners for excessive rust on the truck's frame that appeared as early aS47,000 miles. Ford, however, did not issue a recall for this problem. Trucks were found to be rotted out underneath to the point they had become undriveable after failing to pass inspections. This occurred at various mileage levels and included the fender wheels and the frame's connection to the catalytic converter. The 2006 F-150 is equipped with an aluminum frame that Ford changed in 2015 to mostly steel. Today's F-150 frames are composed of 77 percent high-strength steel, covered by an expensive aluminum body instead. The manufacturer claims this design increases both durability and mobility by making it stronger but lighter.

My 06' F150 frame is rusted through both sides from axle to axle to axle. Seems like a good time for a lawsuit.

Excessive rust on my bed bumper frame there's hoes in my bed as big as my hand I can't even put stuff like that without falling through and I can't see how there's no recall on it people pay good money to buy a truck where to rust out like that that's not appropriate something needs to get done

My 2006 F150 frame is rusted and buckling. We called Ford and they said there was no recall. I wil to continue to call Ford and complain until something is done. The more people that call and complain, the better. Also file a complaint with Department of Transportation.

2006 f150 frame failure caused by rusting. Filed a complaint with Federal Dept. Of Transportation 2 plus years ago-nothing. Seems like a good law firm would class action......mechanically this truck has years of operation remaining but, frame failure means truck is worthless !

Just had brakes put on my 2006 F150. Technician said front part of the frame where it connects to the shocks is almost rusted through! If you slam the door hard enough, pieces of rust fall off from under the door frame!

2006 ford f150 with less than 38,000 miles on it. Failed inspection because it’s dangerous to drive because of the frame is rusted I took great care of my truck and barely drove it. This sucks.

Built Ford tough is such BS. I’d never buy another Ford b/c of the way my 2006 rotted away and it was very well taken care of. RIP Ford
