The 2017 Honda CR-V does not have a recall on the gear shift. It is a known issue, but it was never bad enough for a recall. If it starts to fail You will need to pay for repairs Yourself.

Nope. I was in motion in a parking lot today when mine broke off... It was a DANGEROUS situation. The people at Honda say they have known about it for years - But it is not a "safety recall" - it is merely a "product upgrade" so they do not tell owners of the 2017-2018 CRV unless they bring it in- Then they will upgrade. I am so mad. It is dangerous. I contacted an product liability attorney today. This needs to be out there and FIXED.

Many owners of this vehicle have complained about issues with the gear shift button but no recall was ever issued for this problem.

Our button broke yesterday when we were up skiing in Maine. Didn’t know what had happened. Just couldn’t get the car out of Park. Finally managed to do so. Drove to a gas station for gas and couldn’t get the car into Park. Then saw the broken button. Had the car in neutral so could shift it into drive or reverse. Button then fell out completely. Managed to somehow get it back in so that we can drive home to Mass. Can’t believe that this isn’t a safety recall item. Insane. Honda needs to get its act together on this. It is dangerous.

This just happened to me today. Luckily theI can still stick the button back in the hole and have it work that way, but it’s not secure.

Honda is so full of s**t. If they know it's a known issue, they should replace it free of charge. It's not like we abused the button and it broke off.

I was driving on the road , but then I noticed this button fell into my seat/lap, I was like what is that ? Omg, the shift button got broken and it just fell off from the Gear Shift. So dangerous… so agree that it should be a factory recall on this .

Mine broke yesterday with my grandkids in the car. I couldn't put the thing in park. Luckily I was in my driveway. The dealership was aware of this and told me their was a recall. Well I never received a notice and felt that it was a dangerous situation. I am going to take it in on Monday to have it fixed.
