The 2017 Honda CR-V air conditioning recall can be due to a cooling trigger not engaging and not allowing the A/C to cool the vehicle. The likely cause is due to a seizing A/C compressor which does cause damaged to the A/C system. You can get it fixed for free under warranty but it does have to fit the manufacturers specifications for the repair. If You it is not covered under warranty Youthe replacement cost will be between $800 and $1100 including parts and labor. This is a strenuous repair and the major of the cost will be due to labor fees.

An issue with the air conditioner not cooling triggered a recall in the 2017 honda crv.

Our dealer also said no recall. Seems like there should be one with so many people having an issue. My family have bought exclusively Honda for 40 years. No recall ... No more Hondas for us. They've lost 15 customers in just my family. Sad :-(

2017 Honda CRV AC problem started last year and I paid $650 for troubleshooting and coolant recharge right as cool weather hitting. Noticed same problem when warm weather rolled in. They said it was a leak in the compressor this time and want $2500! I’m going to trade it in for a Subaru. No more Hondas for me after buying several over the years.

I have. 2018 Honda CRV. In May 2021 air conditioner started blowing hot air. Car had 25,000 miles on it. They replaced the A/C discharge hose and completed A/C service. Took 2 days. July 2022 car has 30,100 miles. A/C blowing hot air. Now they say they ha July 25, 2022
I bought a Honda because I thought they were so reliable. I am lucky that I purchased an extended warranty but that will only last so long. If I continue to have issues and Honda doesn’t replace unit or extend warranty, I will get rid of my Honda and buy a Toyota. Never had issues with my Toyotas. Honda needs to step up!

Our 2017 Honda CRV is blowing hot air in 90+ degree weather. Two auto shops said it looks like the compressor is leaking and recommended we contact Honda first for help with payments. I took the car to Honda dealership and they suggested the AC discharge hose and charged us about $900 for its replacement and another $300 for recharge. We were willing to pay because we were in a hurry. But when we picked up the car the next day, Friday, when it was ready, we had to return it back within 10 minutes as the AC was still not working. They said they will look at the compressor, and said this is a common problem with the new freon and the hose and suggested we should contact Honda for a possible reimbursement when a recall is issued. Today is Monday and they still have the CRV. They called saying the compressor now needs to be replaced at a "discounted" cost of about $1,100 and they are waiting for parts. I called Honda, and the response was "you are out of warranty" and they will not help with the expenses. The dealership is helpful in providing a loaner car and apologizing for a problem they are commonly encountering with the new freon and hose.

Same Issue. 2017 Honda CRV. When it hit around 45k miles, started having high pitch sounds coming from the hood and then the ac just started blowing not cool air. Took to the dealership and they said the discharge hose was leaking oil and also the front of AC compressor seal was bad and leaking out front of compressor. Had to have my compressor replaced for 2100$ out of pocket. Then 5 months later, a new blowing sound comes and go that will stop immediately when the AC gets turned off. Took back to the dealership and they said that the fan motor needs to be replaced. Took my car to an independent mechanic who said the sound was coming from the thermal expansion valve or evaporator. Took the car again to the dealership and they're taking a look at it again. I'm done with this car. Should I just sell it once it gets repaired?

My 2017 honda CRV ac stopped blowing cold air!! Took to Buckeye Honda for extended warranty and of course saying not covered that the hoses are leaking!! 1300 to repair 2 hoses!! What a joke!! Then to add to this saying noise you hear when you turn on ac is actually from engine possible knocking!! Just wanting more money!! Then no way of knowing if they repair or not!! They could just refill Freon and charge a fortune! We have 3 hondas and I work for a Honda supplier so not sure we will ever buy another one!!

AC compressor melted just before vacation end of May. $2150 price tag. Upon return, received notice from Honda extending warranty on compressor for 10 years. Filed on line and uploaded photos of receipt from Honda dealership. Told 6-8 weeks for refund. Still waiting. FYI - Honda using new coolant for AC. Cost over $500 to fill system should you lose system containment. This was part of the $2150 cost. Around 1/4of the repair cost!!!

It is not a recall according to Honda -- it is a technical 'advisory'.

Recently received notice from Honda. I have an appointment to determine if faulty air conditioner is covered under extended warranty. Will update outcome. Honda should've owned up to compress defect long ago. If warranty doesn't cover service I'll dump crv and not buy another Honda.

2017 CRV Same AC issue. Honda is saying new compressor is needed. Not happy cost is 2100 p&l. Seems like Honda knows this is an issue but has failed to acknowledge or issue any type of recall.
