Ford is recalling some of the 2020 Ford Escape vehicles which were installed with a key-start ignition system. This also happened previously in 2014, where about 1.3 million Ford vehicles were recalled to fix problems with steering along with the rust and the mat. About 915,000 vehicles were also called back in 2014 in order to resolve issues with the torque sensor which reportedly increased the risks of crashes and accidents. Many Ford vehicles have been recalled for various problems but none of them have been recalled because of a problem with the ignition switch specifically. If You notice any stiffness in Your ignition switch, sometimes a simple oiling can resolve it.

On july 2014, ford motor company began to recall 2008-2011 ford escape vehicles. The recall was a result of the steering torque sensor that may sometimes fail to detect driver steering input.

Some ford escapes have a steering torque sensor that may not be able to properly detect driver steering input so a recall was put out.
