The Ford F-150 has indeed garnered a history of recalls due to frame rust. This is a commonly reported issue for the vehicle. In particular, the problematic areas are occurring in the undercarriage of the truck, with quick eroding and rust build up. For whatever reason, this issue has continued to arise in multiple years, prompting several recalls to fix it.

The ford f150 has been recalled for problems with rust and corrosion developing at unusually high rates for parts of the vehicles underbody.

Just had my 2006 F150 in the shop, the mechanic showed me all the frame rust and said it wasn't safe to drive. Not very happy cause it only has 120,000 miles on it.

You people sound dumber and dumber the more I read, rust through of body parts last as long as your warranty get your book out and read it. Nowhere does it say your vehicle will not rust before it reaches the age of 12 to 20 years of age or more. And it doesn't matter what name Ford, Chevy or Dodge warranty's are the same. One comment states 1960's 1970's junk yard vehicles iron was built better or better grade that might be true, but the fact of the matter is them cars or trucks were put in the junk yard in 60's and 70's too they did not have to endure 20th century caustic road salts or chloride's that's being dumped on our highways at an astronomical rate like this century at best they seen sand used for road maintenance with just enough salt mixed in to keep the sand from freezing into chunks. Now it's called road treatments done 1 to 2 days ahead of the snow or ice storm, liquid chloride or liquid salt brine that's the white stuff all over your clean car and 50% of the time the storm miss's you but it's still done weather it needs it or not, there is a lot more to bad mouth then always Ford believe me I've spent 30 years in municipal road maintenance..

Have any of you owned a chevy ha ha I've had my share 2011 tahoe left frame rail rusted so bad I pondered staying off interstate. Had a family member take Silverado in for service and was called back into shop and was pointed to the frame which was held together by a last sliver of rust, and was told by shop owner by law I cannot let you leave with this vehicle. Until it is properly fixed and inspected by state patrol. Morel of the story is saying you will never buy that brand again are pretty big words.

It seems as though Ford (Chevy and Chrysler) started using inferior steel in the 90s. The U.S. Sold our steel to china and bought chinese garbage steel to manufacture vehicles with. SCREW THESE CORPORATE THEIVES.
