Honda released two technical service bulletins and authorized an extension of the warranty to fix defective door locks on the 2008 Honda CR-V.As You might imagine, a door lock actuator plays a vital role in Your ability to lock and unlock the doors to Your vehicle. If a door lock actuator ever goes bad, it could make it difficult, if not impossible, to lock and unlock a car door. They have agreed to replace locking actuators and related parts in all four passenger doors at no cost to the owners. The average cost for door lock actuator replacement is between $280 and $330. Labor costs are estimated between $90 and $110 while parts are priced between $200 and $220.

Honda released two technical service bulletins (tsbs) and authorized an extension of the warranty to fix defective door locks on its iconic cr-v suv. The tsbs include vehicles constructed between the 2007-09 model years, whose doors vary between unlocked and locked?or are difficult to unlock?when the driver attempts to open the car. Honda has agreed to replace locking actuators and related parts in all four passenger doors at no cost to the owners.

Why does the locks on a 2008 honda crv make a loud noise, and also makes it when putting it in reverse?

I was just told by "America Honda Motor Co, Inc." that the authorization for the extension of the warranty to fix the defective door locks was good for the first 8 years, or 2015, whichever came first. In other words, it has expired. Unfortunate, as my local Honda dealer was going to charge $165 just to diagnose the problem. We would only get the money back if they then looked into the extension of the warranty and got the okay to fix the problem.

I called American Honda Motor Company (888-234-2138) and was told that my 2008 CRV door lock actuator was still under extended warranty. I called my local Honda dealer who agreed to replace it.
