To reset the check engine light for the Ford C-Max, watch: https://www.Youtube.com/watch?v=_0ldmLfHX9U You will come into many issues with an engine. A gasket may be loose and that needs to be tightened up quickly. You can have oil leaks and those need to be fixed as soon as possible. A spark plug may pop off, causing engine trouble. A dire problem is the engine overheating. This may lead to car fires and the vehicle exploding. There could be excessive oil use, requiring the oil to be changed quickly Your air filter needs to be changed every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. The coolant needs to be changed every 60,000 miles. The spark plugs need to be changed every 100,000 miles or so unless it's a copper one. A cooper spark plug needs to be changed every 30,000 miles or so.

Put the vehicle on and off three times in a row, for about 2 seconds.

The engine light will require that you disconnect the battery to hard reset. With the vehicle turned "off," the negative () terminal clamp disconnects the battery. Normally only a 10 mm or 1/2-in socket or wrench is available. Depress the brake for about a minute, when the battery is disconnected. In vehicle condensers this will deplete any energy. Release the brake after enough time as has passed, and reconnect the battery. This may or may not function according to the car, because ecm memory may not depend on voltage. If the hard reset is successful, then it will clear dtcs and cel.
