While the anti-theft system in Your 2006 Chevrolet Malibu is a great deterrent that keeps thieves out of Your car, it's not so great when it keeps You out of Your own. There aren't too many problems noted with the system, but that doesn't mean You're not susceptible to the problems that all anti-theft systems face. Firstly, You'll want to keep an eye on a failed immobilizer. This can either go all at once, or begin giving You issues intermittently. Your key fob is another core component, and since it's exposed to a lot of wear and tear, it's possible that You'll eventually see issues with that as well. Wiring problems occur frequently as well, often manifesting as blown fuses; don't just replace the fuse, though. Blown fuses are a sign of a greater voltage issue, which can be chewing through Your cables.

To reset the alarm on the 2006 Chevy malibu you need to lock all the doors, then unlock the driver side and put the key into the on position. Now turn it off and then back on twice and it will reset.
