The 2010 Toyota Yaris does not seem to have any major common complaints against the transmission. The complaints that are mentioned are pretty standard for all vehicles. Some people have reported a shaking or grinding that was only noticeable while driving with others claiming that they could smell something burning. Most issues can be summed up as either a manufacturer defect which will be covered under warranty or normal wear and tear from use or improper maintenance. Automatic transmissions need service like any other mechanical component in Your car. They have a lubricant that needs changing along with the filter, and they do have parts that wear out with enough use. If You are having issues with the transmission in Your vehicle You should have a certified mechanic take a look as soon as possible because it may be a simple fix that will turn into a big problem if ignored.

If the 2010 toyota yaris is having issues with the transmission then you will notice several problems, including shaking or grinding while driving, a burning smell when the vehicle is on, the gears slipping when you shift, the shifter becoming stuck or non responsive, and leaking fluids. This can all lead to a transmission failure which will more or less kill the vehicle.
