The throttle position sensor can fail in several ways, all of which result in poor fuel economy at best, and performance limitations that may create safety hazard for You and other motorists at worst. This sensor can fail gradually, or all at once. If Your 2011 Jeep Cherokee wont accelerate, lacks power when accelerating, or accelerates itself it's probably due to a bad TPS.If You are looking to simply reset the TPS on the 2011 Jeep Cherokee locate the TPMS reset button under the steering wheel and press in, holding until the tire pressure light blinks three times. Start the car and wait 20 minutes for the sensor to refresh. Inflate all tires to 3 PSI over their recommended amount, then deflate them completely.

To reset the tpms on the 2011 jeep grand cherokee make sure the tire pressure is correct, then turn on the vehicle. Now hit the reset button that is to the right of the steering wheel and wait ten minutes. In some cases you may need to hold the button down till the light flashes. If the sensor is not working correctly then you may have tires with incorrect pressure, and the car can get bad performance.
