There aren't any serious red flags when it comes to the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8. In fact, this is generally considered a pretty reliable vehicle, with one large exception: Certain trim levels had a malfunctioning power distribution center that could lead to loss of the ABS functionality. However, this was limited. Other smaller issues are a noisy steering column when turning at low speed, which is sorted by properly lubing the bearing. There are also issues of the infotainment screen blacking out, but that was solved for the drivers it affected with a software update, as was an issue with the outside temperature not properly updating. Beyond those, You should just expect the usual maintenance items, like failed water pump, dead alternator, and so.

I had a 2012 Mopar Edition with the 5.7, it had severe Electrical problems. Loved the car, but wondered about the 2012 SRT. Maybe because of different Engine it was ok. Mine started popping headlights, the dealer lied to me telling me there was a plastic bag on the Muffler. They kept the car 8 days replacing electrical. It ran fine for about a year. Then the Low tire sensors all went off, then the infotainment system started flashing on the freeway and stuck the car in limp mode, second gear in heavy traffic and I could not get off the freeway for there miles and made it back to my house. I called a friend and we hooked up a computer and folders were missing and we determined the computer system was fried on the car. The worst part was the dealership new it was a lemon and lied to me.

There are not any specific issues with the 2012 chrysler 300 srt8, however due to the age of the vehicle it is likely there will be issues with the engine or transmission. Rust or damaged metal could have set in over time. Likewise the brake lines and other fluid lines should be checked for dry rot and leaks. Brake pads will likely need to be replaced and tires should be checked for age and rot. The oil and oil pump should be checked for rot on the lines, and cracks in the pan. There may also be dead or damaged wires and blown fuse causing electrical problems throughout the vehicle.
