There are various components within the power steering system that could cause problems on the 2012 Dodge Challenger. The power steering pump pressurizes the fluid and if there is any damage to any of the hoses could cause them to rupture. This would be easy to notice because there will be a puddle of power steering fluid below the car. The car will still be able to be driven it will just be more difficult to steer it at slower speeds. Other causes of problems are a lack of fluid which usually is easily detected because the pump will make a high-pitched squealing sound. You can visually inspect the fluid level by opening the hood and looking to the power steering fluid reservoir . Make sure the fluid is be in between the Min and Max marks on the side of it.

If the 2012 dodge challenger is having issues with the power steering pump then you will get whining noises when you turn the wheel, and it will be hard to turn the wheel.
