Complaints about the 2016 Mercedes-Benz S550 are few and far between, and are usually related to driver error. The most common seems to be engine knock, potentially leading to more serious problems if not quickly corrected. This is a direct result of using unleaded gasoline with too low of an octane -- it's recommended that You use Premium or better in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Some common complaints, however simple to fix, that don't seem to be the result of driver error are auxiliary battery failure, blown radiator hoses, and a touchy media system. None of these are too serious, and none should dissuade You from buying a '16 S550. With top notch reliability, You'll have to search for issues in this vehicle.

I took delivery of a 2016 S550 coupe with 33900 miles which had a recent oil and fluid service. I did have to change front brake pads & rotors. Minor vibration which was solved after. The media system is a bit touchy but resolves itself after restart. Love the ride and power.

Most of the problems you will find with the 2016 mercedes s550 will come from not maintaining the vehicle and can include engine failure, transmission failure, and wear and tear on the brakes. As long as you keep to the vehicles maintenance schedule however there should not be an abundance of issues. Other common issues can include bad brake pads, old oil in the system, or burned out wires. These things should be checked over if buying used.

I have a 2016 S550 very well maintained bought used. So far I've had to replace the alternator battery hoses due to a coolant and a oil leak. I don't care how well a car is maintained parts I was going to fail eventually. Of all my car for a year and a half I've already shelled out over 5,000 dollars
