The 2017 Chevy Silverado's transmission has been the subject of numerous complaints, and was even dubbed the 'worst model of the year' by some industry pundits for its excessive tranny problems. In general, owners reported experiencing hesitating and hard shifting while operating. These features often turned to "jerking" motions while shifting gears and some complained of hearing a loud "clunk" from behind the vehicle, that replicated being collided with. Surging and hesitation from the transmission usually happened while speeding up on the interstate, but also manifested as jerking at lower speeds or when moving from a stopped position. In addition to tranny errors, the 2017 Silverado is known for unusual oil consumption that causes the truck to lose almost 3 quarts of engine oil in between oil changes.

I have a 2017 v6 with six speed never a single problem in the 60,000 miles I have had it. Doesn’t use oil at all. I must have gotten a good one

2017 2500hd 58k transmission problem after a one hour highway trip. Slipping and then wouldn't move no matter where selector was it was all like being in neutral. Possibly a control module. My fourth 2500hd never a transmission problem and they all had over 200k on them. Not happy with Chevy , one month wait for the Chevy dealer,very disappointed.

2017 suburban 4x4 LT, 117,000 miles bought it new, regular service, never off road or beat on. Transmission dead. Needs full replacement

2017 silverado with 50000 miles, transmission had to be replaced. Cost was over $5000, was very fortune to have bought extened warranty when truck was purchased. GM is having transmission problem in their truck.
