What are some of the 2019 Chevrolet silverado transmission problems?

The 2019 Chevy Silverado has been cited for early transmission failure at less than 70,000 miles. Replacing the tranny can cost upwards of $3,000 if not covered by a warranty. One of the most common problems experienced by owners of the Silverado involved gear slamming. The truck can "crash into" into first and second gears after a slight hesitation and accelerating at low speeds will cause surging and grinding noises. Previous years of the Silverado have also been plagued with transmission failure and problems, includinG2012-2014 models. GM now recommends flushing and filling the tranny with Mobile 1 automatic transmission fluid to correct functioning issues. A TSB issued for the Silverado'S8-speed automatic, allows for the replacement of the torque converter clutch (TCC) as a solution as well.

The oil change place said my 2019 Silverado has no stick to check the fluid of the transmission fluid: is this correct?

I am having issues while coming to a stop, sometimes there is no problems, sometimes a slight jerk, and then other times it feels like I just got rear-ended by a mack truck. The service department says they have had three different people drive it with no issues. I am throwing the BS flag and I am getting aggravated with this whole problem. It is a 2019 Silverado LT and the warranty is about to expire in two months. I am starting to think they are blowing me off until after the warranty expires so the don'thave to deal with it!

Our dealer finally fixed our transmission issue with an update to the TCM (transmission control module). We have driven it at least 2500 miles since with no issues. 2019 Silverado Trail Boss

If the 2019 chevrolet silverado is having issues with the transmission then you will notice several problems, including shaking or grinding while driving, a burning smell when the vehicle is on, the gears slipping when you shift, the shifter becoming stuck or non responsive, and leaking fluids. This can all lead to a transmission failure which will more or less kill the vehicle.

I have a 2019 chevy silverado crewcab with this same issue, they did a flush/fill of the transmission. Now said to drive it for 200 miles to see if it still does it before they will tear into the transmission. Which makes sense, but its a pain.

My transmission blew at 80k miles on my 2019 Silverado. I'm looking at 6,000$ no warning lights or anything but GMC said shifting problems were normal.

I’ve notice the clunking/jerking during shifting of my Silverado 1500 L T Crew cab. Today a new issue. When I put the vehicle in drive and applied the accelerator nothing happened. The transmission did not engage. I put the transmission back into park and then shifted it into Drive. I applied the accelerator and in about 5 seconds the vehicle slammed into gear lunging forward. Once in gear I experienced no more issues but this is something I’m going to have a discussion with my local dealer. This is not a daily driver and just turned 20,000 miles. Didn’t realize these 2019’s were having issues.

I have been experiencing transmission shake problems since I bought 2019 Silverado. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they say this is normal behavior for this vehicle. I totally disagree!! In all the vehicles I have owned over the years I have never had this type shaking. This was one of the reasons I traded-in my 2017 Colorado, for this very same issue. Now three Chevrolet truck I still have this problem, apparently a Chevy truck issue that no dealership wants to live up to.

My 2019 is doing the same thing. I have already had to have transmission fluid replaced in it once and this week I am having to do it again. The dealership will cover it until it hits 60,000 and then it will be "my problem." If the transmission falls out, I will be footing the cost of a new one. They know there is a problem and only put a bandaid on it until it completely fails and then charge the consumer. I wish I had never bought a Chevrolet. I know for people who have already had to have a new transmission put in at their cost!!! I'm furious.

My 2019 Silverado crew cab LT is at the service center a 2nd time. 1st the tranny fluid was changed and the computer was updated. 2nd time they are ordering a Torque Converter and “some other parts”. I sure hope this is the final service visit so I can get my truck and enjoy it. The truck only has 30k miles. Good thing I have the extended warranty.

2019 silverado 1500 8Speed transmission 58,000 miles. Dealer tells me hard shift is normal. I've taken to be serviced for hard shift, shuttering, vibration on highway.this last time I refused to take my truck back, the problem has become almost constant. After 2 days they call me and say it's the Valve body And the part is on back order. There's a class action lawsuit on GM 8 speed transmission. It's alleged that GM knowinglyput faulty transmissions in over 800,00 vehicles.

2019 Chevy Silverado LT 5.3L. First time I took it in, about 51k miles, they said, "Oh, if its no lights on, we would have to to keep your vehicle and we're backed up right now. Keep driving it and if it gets worse bring it back". I park it, took it back in two days, same noise. Well, they had to replace the lifters, camshaft, valves etc etc. Got my vehicle back, it started vibrating at 1200 rpms between 20-40mph. Took it back, the lead technician said, "it's your tires". I say NOPE. THen he says it's the roads around here. I said, NOPE. Then we ride together and he says, thats the TCC, it's suppose to do that. SMH. NOPE!! SO right now we are at a stand off. I'll give an update when I have one.

The 8 speed trans has the same issues as the 6 speed. I literally replaced a 2017 with a 6 speed with a 2019 with an 8 speed to get away from that transmission. I have the infamous 1st to 2nd hard shift. 2nd to 3rd is rough, but not as bad. Slow speed travel is brutal because of the thump. My next vehicle will be an EV. I'm done with transmissions.

On my second transmission in my 2019 Z 71 Silverado. Bought the truck CPO from the dealer and it lasted a whopping 500 miles before the transmission completely failed. Now on my second transmission and getting check engine lights regularly. Guess I’m going to have to lawyer up to take care of it.

I have the same issue, hesitation from R to D when backing up from my driveway. I also have an issue when I come to a complete stop it feels like I get hit from the back almost like fender bender.i took it in today and they mentioned the battery is low and that since I’m at 46k miles on it they would recommend transmission maintenance. I’ll have to wait until Tuesday to find out what’s wrong if anything.

Had the same issue with my 2019 Silverado 1500 LT. Traded it in for 2023 2500 Silverado. Beautiful truck. Wasn’t going to sell it private party for that reason. Let the dealership deal with it. They know exactly what the problem is and I’m not going to pay for it.

My '19 1500 Lt trans. Start bucking only around 65mph even while on cruise. But now it is grinding at 20 mph. Ive noticed that it won't use the 6 cylinder. It goes 4 cylinder bucks then switches to 8 with hesitation. It drives rougher than my 88 fiero and cost 40x more too. This should have afactory recall due to the number of owners are experiencing these issues with the transmission. And being a female and takingit to the dealer they treat me like I dont know anything and say they don't feel anything while test driving it. I tried to get him to let me drive and he can just sit in the passenger seat. He said it wouldn't be a diagnosis if he wasn't the driver.like give a break.

My 2019 crew cab LT has clunked a handful of times, but only happens at low speeds(between 1st and 2nd). Also notice a delay/clunk when going from drive to reverse. I back into my parking spot a lot and sometimes when I come to a complete stop, then throw the shifter into reverse from drive, I typically take my foot off the break immediately since I’m completely stopped. When doing this the reverse is delayed, then clunks into gear because I start to slowly accelerate since the gages on the dash show I’m now in reverse, but does not fully engage for 1 or 2 seconds. 5.3l with the 8 speed tranny. No complaints on the motor except a slow ticking noise at idle that was checked by the dealer and was told it’s normal to make this noise. Does anyone know if the 2500 or 3500 have these issues?
