BMW, by and large, makes some pretty reliable vehicles -- the BMW 2 Series Grand Tourer is no exception. There are no reported issues with the vehicle, and there are no open recalls. That doesn't mean, however, that You're immune from problems that every driver faces -- an ounce of preventative maintenance can save You a pound of headache down the line. You should be following Your manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, including oil changes when called for (every 5,000 - 7,000 miles), transmission fluid changes (every 25,000 - 40,000 miles), and associated filter changes. Keep an eye on Your air filter and other auxiliary components, and replace as needed. Small steps like these can prevent problems from accruing, which can eventually lead to significant problems down the line.

Hi I have a 2017 BMW 2 series gran tourer. It shakes when I am stopped in traffic or waiting at the traffic lights every now and again. It can be a very strong shake as in my kids can feel this in back of car. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what is causing this? Thanks

Most of the problems you will find with the BMW 2 Series gran tourer will come from not maintaining the vehicle and can include engine failure, transmission failure, and wear and tear on the brakes. As long as you keep to the vehicles maintenance schedule however there should not be an abundance of issues. Other common issues can include bad brake pads, old oil in the system, or burned out wires. These things should be checked over if buying used.
