The most common problem that You will encounter with the GMC Sierra ten speed transmission is just that the vehicle hunts for gears. Since Your truck has ten gears it may be trying to find the best gear at all points in time to optimize acceleration and fuel economy. This can lead to it feeling like it is hunting and searching for the right gear. There are also known problems with the transmission not shifting down fast enough when You need to accelerate. You need to use the lower gears to accelerate faster and it can take a while to jump down multiple gears to get the ultimate torque.

Well I must have got the only good one my truck is a 2021 Elevation 5.3 10 speed it it shifts like a dream and goes liike a rocket, I pull out to pass and stand on it from 90 km it's doing 160 km when I pull back in. Now I will say that if you stand on it hard and then need to slow down because of a corner etc it may seem that it's looking for a gear but really it that you have asked it to go but it needs more rpm to shift up to next gear. So if you back off slow it's fine not trang fault but the driver I wouldn't buy another without it.
We purchased a 1 owner 2020 1500 10sp. It had impeccable maintenance from 1st owner and 2 continued when purchased it now has 135k and there is a trans shutter.which just started 10 days ago. Dealer tells me it needs new trans. Miles driven are not hard/ no towing. Trans is only 3 yrs old. We are in process of trying to get dealer and/or gm to fix problem. Please anyone out there with same problem.

Mike your not the only one that got a good 10 speed. I have a 2019 Sierra SLT with a 6.2l and 10 speed. The powertrain combination works great. I have no problems so far and passing, merging, and towing is flawless.
