The Toyota Yaris is not more susceptible to any fuel gauge problems than any other vehicle -- that is to say, there's nothing that it's prone to that another comparable vehicle isn't. You'll still have issues like a defective fuel tank sending unit, a failed instrument cluster, or a bad fuel tank level float; just don't expect them to happen at a greater rate than You'd see elsewhere. One common issue among many Toyota vehicles is the fuel tank float coming off of its arm. This prevents a proper reading. This is an easy repair, yet is very complicated to get to -- the fuel tank has to be dropped to gain access. Your instrument cluster is relatively accessible, but You should check Your fuel tank sending unit first -- they typically fail at a higher rate than the cluster.

To reset the fuel gauge on the Toyota Yaris you need to hit the ODO/TRIP button, then turn the vehicle off. Hold the button and turn it back on and make sure it says it is in ODO/TRIP mode. Now turn the vehicel off again. Wait 10 min, turn it on, then turn it off. It is now reset. If this does not work then the gauge may not be getting power, or the wires leading to it are bad.
My fuel gage showed nothing at all wat seems to be the problem
