There are numerous problems with the headlights in a 2008 Chevy Silverado. One is with the electrical connectors, they can become corroded which will cause the electrical signal to be cut off. This usually occurs overtime with water getting inside and then becoming oxidized. Other problems are being out of alignment there's a couple screws on the backside of the headlight assembly that allows You to tilt them slightly to get the correct angle for viewing from the driver seat. Sometimes the plastic will become brittle and these bolts will break it. There have been complaints of the headlight fuse getting blown , this is because of bare wires shorting out the circuit.
