Some of the 2009 consumer-reported Chevy Impala transmission issues are dealing with rough shifting, transmission slipping, shuddering, and a defective torque converter. To guarantee that You get the most from Your transmission and avoid any user issues, You can follow the service manual and flush Your transmission fluid after 60,000 miles. It is imperative to flush the machine every 45,000 miles whether You are using Your Chevy in rugged terrain or towing a trailer. Depending on the brand and consistency, the price of transmission fluid will range from $7 to $12 per quart. You should take it to a mechanic or dealer to perform the flush, and the price will range from $100 - $150.

Transmission failure is the most common issue of this nature for the 2009 chevy impala. A few other transmission issues reported are due to not shifting into gear, leaks, failed solenoid, and service traction control message.
My transmission on my 2010 Impala only shift great when it's cold or on first start ups then it doesn't want to shift gears unless you manual shift...Iam thinking about changing all the solenoids including transmission filter
I’m having similar issues jerks when having to stop at a red light will run 2nd &3rd just fine any ideas?
