Most commonly, the 2014 Silverado suffers from gear slipping, with users also reporting shifting from first to second gear becoming stiff, tight and very difficult over time. This is because the 2014 Silverado is known to have higher maintenance requirements, such as higher amounts of motor oil and transmission fluid on average. Its highly recommended that You change transmission fluids every 30,000 miles. Sometimes, the Silverado may also require a transmission flush. This involves replacing the fluids stuck in the cooler lines, so that Your transmission can work more smoothly and efficiently. If that doesnt solve the problem, You may require a complete system flush. If You require such a procedure, its best to consult a mechanic or Your dealership to get a professional opinion.

It's the torque converter causing that . Mine went out at 155,000 miles . My repair person said the original torque converter isnt built to hold up the motor changing from 8 to 4 cylinders all the time

These specific trucks with the transmission problems are going to have people killed. They should certainly be recalled immediately.

Took mine back when it’s under warranty and technician said it was normal. Right after no warranty and paid to put a torque converter in it and now it slipping and makes a horrible noise. Chevy should be ashamed of themselves

Had my first trans go out at 138k couldn't rebuild and couldn't buy one from factory so i found one with 36k on it and had that installed now at 230k this one is doing the same thing. First one cost me 4,300.oo . Original trans shifted hard for awhile then just stopped shifting the replacement seems like it's slipping when it's going from second to third

This trans is terrible. Should fall in the lemon law and be replaced by Chevrolet for free. But that will not happen. Changed fluids. 4 times now. Did not help.

Dealership refused to repair mine under warranty because no code. I hooked up my backhoe and drove like an ***hole. Took about 30 minutes to completely destroy it. It wouldn’t move. Had to be towed in to dealership. They put a new transmission in. So if it’s under warranty you need to completely destroy it.

Been having transmission problems on my 2014 1500 before reaching 30,000 miles. I have had the truck at dealership ship several times for this issue. They say since it’s not throwing a code they can’t fix it. After taking truck back several more times for same issue, again not showing code I told them to drive truck and they could clearly see it had a problem. They refused to drive to drive drive truck only tell again they can’t fix it without a code showing no mater what the truck was doing. All this was going on before warranty was up. After telling them they needed to do something before the warranty ran out, they told me They would log issues in the computer so if the transmission went out after warranty was up I would be covered. Now that the transmission has went out they are refusing to fix it at no cost because it don’t have warranty. After back tracking and trying to come up with excuses, they are offering to put in new transmission for free it I pay for transmission. They even admitted they were aware of the faulty transmissions From GM but are not allowed to fix issue under the warranty unless its popping up a code.

I’m having problems with my 2014 6 cylinder jamming up out of gear at only at 104,000 . Got it serviced and 3,000 miles later it looks like it’s never been serviced. Reputable mechanic so I think. But the fluid was dark and I just had it flushed with an additive to help. I’m praying.
