A common transmission issue witH2018 Chevrolet Tahoe is an occasional hard 1-2 shift, frequently followed by bogging of the engines. This condition may be caused by the clutch applied during the shift by the torque convertor. A transmission is what changes the gear of an engine, thereby transferring the engine's power to the wheels with the purpose of moving the vehicle ahead. By changing the transmission fluid on a regular basis, the fluid stays clean and will keep the transmission running smoothly.Transmission replacement will cost anywhere from $800 to $3,400 depending on the type of transmission You are buying. Used transmissions cost about $1,150 with average prices ranging from $800 to $1,500. Rebuilt transmissions cost about $1,950 with average prices ranging from $1,100 to $2,800.

Our Tahoe is a 2018 Z71 and it has 104k miles. My wife heard what appeared to be a harmonic rattle when accelerating through the gears. This was a few days ago. This morning she backed Tahoe out of carport and when she went to go from reverse to drive it would not go forward. I turned the engine off and re started it and the transmission worked but slipped as i pulled back in carport.

I have a 2017 Tahoe Z71... Maintained religiously per the owners manual at the dealership, and only serviced at the dealership. It has been the worst vehicle I have ever owned. I have all of the service records, the following has been done before 100k at my expense. Top end of engine, all lifters & head gaskets. AC condenser. Brake system accumulator pump. Transmission replacement with new OEM component. Radio with GPS twice. New battery (OEM) less than 6 months old has already died. Brake rotors replaced with genuine OEM parts warped at less than 15k after replacement. I am going to replace broken sway bar links myself. This vehicle has only highway miles, never towed day in it's life. Totally unreliable. Avoid at all costs. This is out second Tahoe (1st went thru lemon law over leaking roof). It will also be our last. Life long GM customer gone for good.
