A window leak on the 2019 Chevy Silverado is caused by two things. The window may be loose in the frame or it may be cracked. The crack should be obvious but the loose frame may not. In either case, water can get into the gaps and leak through. The other common cause is the sealant on the window has torn or rotted and there is now a gap for the water to come through. You will also hear a whistling noise if the sealant is bad as the air is able to make it through while driving. The sealant can be replaced with a home kit easily enough, but a loose or cracked window may need to be replaced altogether.

I've had 3 windows leak on my 2019 Chevy LTZ Silverado. It is not the seal or a loose frame. The window is held in place by four tabs that hold it tight. My dealership has told me GM is claiming excessive body flex as the culprit that caused the plastic frame on the electric sliding windows to crack and fail. This has happened to me at the thin part where the sliding frame necks down. The latest window replacement moved this area to just behind the trim pillar which hides it from view. Still found water on the back of the seat and the second headliner stained.

The rear window leaks on the power sliding windows are due to the plastic window frame cracking where the plastic is thin at the end of the sliding channel. I've had a truck thats had 3 windows crack the frame. GM won't tell me but the dealership has told me GM is citing excessive body flex as the reason for the plastic frame cracks.

I have a 2019 Silverado with 14500 miles. I noticed the leak around the rear window on 1/8/23 and went to the Chevrolet Dealer on 1/9. The service advisor stated that the issue was a cracked rear window frame and that this issue is wide spread. Apparently the cracks occur due to excessive body flex. There is a Technical Service Bulletin issued by GM using some sealant however, this dealer only recommended replacing the entire window as they didn’t feel the TSB was an adequate fix. I reluctantly made a service appointment for 1/11 to have the window replaced in the amount of $975. Additionally, I filed a formal complaint with GM and was assigned a case number & Customer Engagement contact Rep on 1/10. When the Dealer notified me that my vehicle was done and ready for pickup, they also indicated that GM had contacted them to offer assistance with the bill. To my surprise, GM covered $600 of the total bill even though the 3 yr / 36000 warranty had ended in March 2022. The Dealer also stated to keep the $375 receipt. This, as there is likely going to be an official recall and any monies paid would be reimbursed.

I used flex seal all over the exterior of the rear sliding window and sealed the gap around the rooftop light cow, Stopped the water, then sold it to a dealer!

I have a 2019 Chevy Silverado high country. My rear window leaks, too. Chevy should get their act together. Dealing with customer service, it's been over a week. Still no phone call from a dealer.

2019 trail boss lt, 100k, with full warranty until 120k. GM dealer tells me that it won’t cover this replacement/repair. BS!! Mold under floor mats, because the rear of the truck is soaked from this leak. Start repairing these simple fixes GM! Your dealers need a better education.

We just paid an auto shop $600 to "fix" this leak a month ago, just noticed last week that now the leak is across the whole back window, not localized in one corner! I dont even know what to do now...

I have a 2019 and it repaid 3 times at the dealership. The 3rd time they replaced the entire glass. Now as I’m writing this it’s raining outside and there is water (slight) on the passenger side around the sliding rail. I have no cracks. I’m so over this water leaking nonsense

A bad or worn down seal is the most likely cause of a rear window leak.
