The Honda CR-V code listed b16 is a maintenance minder for the driver of the car to let You know that You need to change oil, rotate tires, replace the rear differential fluid in the vehicle.. The A - Oil Change, 1 - Tire rotation, 6 - replace Differential fluid. If You have already done this service recently and You need to remove the code You can do that by following these instructions. The recommended service intervals are 3500 for oil change, tire rotation every 3500 miles and every 60,000 miles for the differential fluid change.

If your honda crv throws a b16 maintenance code it means you should rotate your tires and have your rear differential fluid flushed and replaced.

My HRV just gave me a B16 service code with only 14,000 miles. Is this an error code to service the differential ? Told them no on that service, didn’t make sense

Rickey: AWD Hondas have a driveshaft from the engine to the rear wheels, the driveshaft terminates at a differential box with gears that drive the back axles. The differential box has fluid that needs to be changed periodically.
