The EPS light on the dash of a Hyundai Elantra means that there was a fault detected with the electronic power steering system in Your car. Your vehicle uses an electric motor to aid in steering compared to the old hydraulic systems that were used in the past. When Your ECU finds that there is a problem with the power steering motor it will turn this light on at the dash. You will want to have Your vehicle inspected by a mechanic or a Hyundai dealership to see what the cause of the problem is. Frequently it can be something as simple as a fuse or a loose wire, but it could also be a power steering motor failure. You will also usually notice Your steering feels heavier when it is not working properly.
