The Chevy Silverado code P0700 means the PCM has detected an issue the transmission control system. This will cause the Check Engine light to come on and put the truck in limp mode, until the issue is resolved. A diagnostic test would have to be ran to find the exact cause, which can cost between $90 to $115. This code can be cause by a bad transmission control module which can cost between $550 to $850 to have replaced. Another possible cause of the P0700 code is a faulty shift solenoid, which costs $325 to $370 to replace. Other potential causes could be a short circuit, bad valve body or low on fluid.
